Don't mind me. I'm perpetually trying to find ways to make it easier to read/see these updates/know what's going on. With so many kids it's so easy to get overwhelmed with "who's who."
So, I was glumly having my first twins, Blaze and Brylee (newly aged to Young Adults) spend some last minute time with their parents. I wanted to grant all the wishes in their panel before having them leave (as they weren't very difficult.)
I also wanted to be sure I cleared their inventory and spent the LTHP on things we may need/they may need.
Briony still be climbin' in yo' windows (walls?)!
I swear out of all the bugs this game has... this is one of my favorites.
Blaze had a wish to talk to both of his parents and get a job in the Culinary field. His LTW is Celebrity Chef and at this point I figured I wouldn't be able to keep him to complete it.
The doorbell startles Benny, either that or he's pullin' some super SWEET moves. Hard to say.
Where Benny is, I always usually pan to Belle. I have this sort of "role call method" you see. I work my way down the panel on the side to check on people and take pictures accordingly, which is often why it goes in order from oldest to youngest when I take pictures...

Blaze sat down to sign up for the Culinary career and this is about when I started to spiral out.
Blaze accepted his job. I scoffed at his low-levelness thinking his part time job would've carried over and when it didn't my eye was twitching...
Or at least, I THOUGHT it didn't.
I accepted the job and got a notification immediately that his previous experience boosted him in his career. I decided to check it out, expecting to see Level 3 or 4 and...

I scrambled to look through the Baby Boom rules and saw nothing about having to move the kids out immediately after aging up (there might've been one before? I can't remember).
Rereading the rules - it was in the OLD rules, but not the NEW rules, so I settle on that I'm going to keep Blaze and Brylee until he hits level 10. One for the fridge and two because I want to complete as many LTWs as possible for the kids.
Blaze flipped up a wish to buy an exercise machine. LOL buddy you're a couch potato WHY?

Liam had a wish to throw an elixir at Adilyn since their little spat earlier, he also had a wish to use a vial of Bliss and to make a vial of bliss, so I had him make one, and throw it at her. Bam. Bam. Bam.
Life is good.
Break time for my painters to come hug on their parents. Bentley and Bastian are chained to the easels because of their LTWs (Illustrious Author/Visionary respectively).
I DO try to break them away to fulfill their other wishes. Bentley has already maxed writing, and Bastian has already maxed photography, so we're really just waiting on them to finish up their painting. They're both around level 8 and a half right now? So it's coming closer and closer.
Back to painting for them and... (sighs)

He seems to think I haven't gotten the memo.
It was a twist of fate that had me have Benny check the mail as well as donate money and...
Not one, but TWO love letters come in for Bastian... and he's the ONLY one to get a love letter (two). Both from Frances, no less... surely you all remember her? The girl that ran away from the house when I sent Bastian out to flirt with her? Yes! That girl!

She also has a boyfriend (squints).
Maybe she knew she couldn't resist Bastian if he were to show interest so she fled?
Or maybe she truly did fear his sister and THAT caused her to flee. Hehe, the world may never know.

Brielle maxed her child cooking... by burning her pie! Lol... here I thought that was supposed to PREVENT you from burning.
Clearly Brielle is not cut out to be a cook.
Brylee is just hanging around because I can't stand the thought of moving her out without her other half (Blaze) so she's getting some wish fulfillment here and there and that means conversion rituals on plantable ingredients.
These two autonomously decided to hug on each other and DIP KISS. My favorite kiss interaction!
They then began to woohoo but I stopped them... why? Because today is a full moon! No woohoo for you, only try for baby!
They went at it twice in bed and once in the shower before chimes finally. This is exciting!
Brylee is going to be taking over the garden. I'm having her keep her part-time job at the hospital so that I can EVENTUALLY move her into it full time before she moves out, but mostly so I can have her at home more (as the medical career really sucks the life out of you) in order to tend to the garden.
The garden has always taken a back seat and therefore none of the ingredients in it are 'Perfect' or even above 'Very Nice' quality. This is highly unusual for me and kind of bugging me. My first things I usually do are go hardcore on a garden to max out perfect quality basil, sweetgrass, Red Berry Beans and alchemy ingredients (for faster job leveling, failed herb consumption, money, and alchemy respectively). Basil is used to get promotions faster, but sometimes herb consumption fails and you get "herb nausea" to which Sweet Grass can cure that. RBB sell for a SWEET amount of cash and make for a great money crop while just having an insane amount of valarian root and wolfsbane will mean endless friendships and all-nighters with the alchemy station.
LONG STORY SHORT, I want Brylee in the medical field, but right now the teens are so busy with school/their own LTWs that they don't have time to tend to the garden, same for Adilyn and Liam, so Brylee is maintaining her part time job if only to be a gardener before she fully jumps into the medical field and flies the nest.
Did you need all that info? Nah, but you got it anyways. Congrats! XD

Blaze eats some sweetgrass before work because his first Basil consumption failed. I pump him up with basil, send him in on the not-so-routine-machine and cross my fingers for fast promotions.
These first few promotions are gonna suck because he doesn't know his coworkers yet, so I have to waste time meeting them instead of "working hard" to 100% earn him a promotion. A basil + Not-So-Routine-Machine + 'Work Hard' ethic = guaranteed promotion.
It didn't HELP that he started his career in the red because he missed work in order to stay home and prepare for his birthday - a fact I didn't think would matter because I didn't see him staying in the house.
Now here we are.
It's a full moon so that means I start carefully starting the shift for all my wolves in the house.

Bastian cannot take a day of this loneliness any longer so he calls up Frances just for a friendly chat.

apparently they're taking the 'friendly' approach in the same way that Quinn and Esmerelda from SotN take 'friendship.'

Belle: It's the WALLPAPER! It's CONSPIRING behind our backs!
Belle: and don't even get me started on the doorknobs!
Benny's body language is enough of a response. Despite this, they don't lose any friendship. Lol, guess that's what being a twin is all about.

These two have literally been on ONE phone call for three hours. I've never had a sim phone conversation last that long when their social bar was already maxed!

Stalked her to give her a proper makeover. I didn't change anything about her clothes, just her hair and makeup... I tweaked her eyes SLIGHTLY because they were a little too close together, but everything else is all her.
Once their four hour long phone conversation ended. I had him invite her over.
I stupidly forgot to change Blaze into a werewolf before work, so he's forced to leave work to change and then head back in. Way to go Livvie.
You'll never see Level 10 of the culinary career at this rate...
Oh and poor Beth gets sent home in a police vehicle. Why? She was egging Helen's house...
Mommy Adilyn was NOT happy about this!

That was rhetorical, but I do love Bastian's face when it's NOT deformed by werewolfness.

ReplyDeleteWow, I did not realise that the part-time careers could jump start the kids that much, I thought L3-4. Go Blaze! Completely agree about the fridge, though you may need to slow down with the babies then, depending on how many sims you/your game can handle in one house. I think my maximum is about 14-16, then things get really crazy.
Aw, Bastian and Frances, so cute! I do love the way the townies look in RH, all old fashioned and such - and all with perfectly matched outfits, someone at EA went to a lot of trouble creating all of them.
So impressed with your careful planning of your garden and herbs. I haven't used herbs much, will have to try out the Basil thing. Mostly I use gardens for produce to eat, since I hate my sims shopping from the fridge.
LOL He later had a wish to gain the athletic skill and improve it - either Blaze is just being his SUPER AMBITIOUS SELF and not his couch potato self... but I wholly expected him to take ambitious and pair it off with couch potato like I WILL BE THE BEST COUCH POTATO WHO EVER LIVED. I WILL DO ALL THE COUCH POTATO THINGS!

Me either! I was totally shocked! It's even better than a degree! Lol funny you should say that about the babies, I think I did hit a strange cap, but thankfully I'm fine with that and the triplets will age up and move out before I really need to worry about it hitting again... and HOPEFULLY Blaze will get that fridge soon so I can have 5 spaces opening up.
I know! Aren't they just adorable? RH has some cute fashion. I was surprised about that. This is the town I was certain I would regret getting but it's one of my favorites now.
I actually found this garden/herb plan from my Short Dynasty. The ages work out like 2-2-2-4-6-6 (baby-toddler-child-teen-YA-A) which leaves so little time for careers/ANYTHING. All of the techniques I have for this I got from that challenge, to which I started with the best garden and worked my way up. It let me max careers with insane speed having that basil. Perfect basil is ideal, but any basil seems to do.
Whoops, sent too soon! Anyways, thank you! I definitely recommend the herbs, they're very worth it, but always keep sweet grass on hand incase the herb fails and causes nausea!
